  • 通过约翰斯顿房子的光创造出一个动态和有趣的环境，光不停地穿过不同的空间，掩藏、造型、舒展和玩乐。这房子曾经是一个典型的阴暗的排式房屋，但现在延展的庭院把房子的一部份打开了，显露出房子框架，使更多的阳光能进入室内空间。房子的形状对光能产生反应。大量的空间看似从屋顶的天窗‘洞口’ 下降。相反地，我们亦利用木材制成了阴暗的空间，或有时一个绘画的阴影会出现。把这些光与暗的空间合成，便可达到平衡与和谐的空间。光, 像个舞蹈家,带来动态感受到这个剧院般的居住空间

  • Light dances through the Johnston house creating a dynamic and amusing environment -constantly moving through the space hiding, posing, stretching, and playing. This house was once a typical dark terrace house -now courtyards stretch the house apart revealing a frame and opening the internal spaces to light. These courtyards are filled with plantation bringing a bit of jungle landscape into the interior. The form of the building reacts to the forces of light. Volumes of space appear to drop through skylight ‘holes’ in the roof. Conversely we have created dark shadow spaces made of timber or sometimes a painted shadow may appear. Together these light and dark spaces combined are balanced and harmony is achieved. This is a dynamic and ever evolving house with light as the principle lead dancer. It is a theatre to live in.
